Workshop for community health workers
On June 15 and 16, NCRS organized a two days workshop for community health workers of 20 districts of Nepal from different geographic region.

The workshop was organized by the support of UICC. It was inaugurated by the Health and Population state minister of Nepal. In the workshop different technical papers related to cancer and prevention were presented by the Oncologists of Bhaktapur cancer hospital and the non technical papers were presented by resource persons from NCRS.

Meeting with the honorable Prime Minister
On the special occasion of World No Tobacco Day, NCRS president along with the other executive members met the honorable prime minister of Nepal Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal.

In the meeting, president of NCRS, Mr. Lokendra Kumar Shrestha requested to the prime minister for the quick approval or pass of the tobacco control legislation in consistent with FCTC.

Honorable prime minister was also found very positive towards the bill pass. NCRS team handed over an anti-tobacco sloganed cap to the honorable prime minister of Nepal.
